Home For Churches
Marriage ministry is better built together
For pastors, care pastors and marriage ministry leaders in Collin and Grayson County. Come to a gathering, borrow what is working in other churches, and know exactly where to send a couple who needs more than you can give.
Gatherings
Lunch, every other month, for anyone serving marriages
The simplest thing we do, and maybe the most important. Nobody should be building marriage ministry alone in a church down the road from someone who already figured it out.
What
Ninety minutes: lunch, one church sharing what it is learning, and time to meet the people doing this work near you. No cost and no pitch.
Who
Senior and executive pastors, care and counseling pastors, marriage and family ministry leaders, mentor couples, and Christian counselors.
When
Every other month, 12:00 to 1:30 — January, March, May, July, September and November.
Where
A different host church each time, alternating between Collin and Grayson County so no one always has the long drive.
Where we gather
Host churches rotate between Collin and Grayson County — from Plano and McKinney in the south to Sherman and Denison near the Red River — so no one always has the long drive.

Start with your role
What do you need from us?
For care pastors
When a couple is sitting in your office
You do not have to be their counselor. You do need to be a good first step. This is the order we would walk through.
Ask about safety first
If there is abuse, threats or fear in the home, do not begin couples counseling. Care for each spouse separately, help the one at risk make a safety plan, and bring in professional help right away.
Listen for what kind of help they need
A skills problem — communication, conflict, expectations — can go to a coach or a biblical counselor. Trauma, addiction, an affair, depression or anxiety needs a licensed counselor, alongside your pastoral care.
Make a warm referral
Hand them a name, not a list. Offer to make the first call with them, and tell them why you trust the person you are sending them to.
Consider an intensive
When weekly sessions are not enough — after an affair is discovered, or when one spouse is close to leaving — a few concentrated days can do what months cannot.
Keep them in community
Counseling works better when a couple is not hiding. Connect them with a re|engage group or a mentor couple, and put a follow-up on your calendar for two weeks out.
For ministry leaders
Programs you can run, and where to send couples next
The same resources couples see on our For Couples page, organized for the people leading them: what your church can host, the training behind it, and who to refer to when a couple needs more.
